About the position

The Art Classroom Teacher is responsible for organizing and implementing an instructional program for students in a regular classroom setting, adhering to educational laws and policies. This role involves planning, programming, monitoring, and reporting on student progress while fostering a conducive learning environment.

Responsibilities

• Designing the academic education program consistent with the district's educational philosophy.
• Continuing professional growth through educational meetings and literature.
• Coordinating with other teachers and departments in program development.
• Preparing educational plans based on assessed needs of students.
• Using assessment instruments to evaluate student progress.
• Preparing lesson plans for assigned groups or classes.
• Maintaining a classroom environment conducive to effective learning.
• Providing varied instructional techniques to meet students' needs.
• Protecting students, materials, and facilities during instruction.
• Participating in in-school staffing and screening processes.
• Assisting in upholding school rules and policies.
• Selecting instructional materials and equipment.
• Engaging in professional growth through workshops and courses.
• Ensuring evaluation records are maintained for each student.
• Evaluating student progress and providing feedback to students and parents.
• Completing reports for educational agencies as required.
• Referring students needing further evaluation to appropriate personnel.
• Attending faculty meetings and other required meetings.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited university.
• Valid North Carolina Teaching License in the subject area.
• Experience in teaching or related educational roles.
