About the position

The Art Director - Digital CX Marketing position at a leading audiobook company involves designing interactive digital customer journey experiences and scaling designs for global markets. The successful candidate will be responsible for creating strategic and conceptual solutions that enhance the customer journey while being rooted in the brand's identity. This role requires a blend of strategic thinking and hands-on design skills, with a strong emphasis on user experience (UX) and user interface (UI) design. The Art Director will leverage their expertise in design systems to address complex business challenges and create designs that are adaptable across various platforms, including web, app, and email, while also catering to global audiences. In this role, the Art Director will advocate for innovative and culturally relevant creative solutions. Collaboration is key, as the individual will work closely with creative and marketing partners, guiding designers to develop ideas and experiences that effectively communicate the essence of the company's product. The Art Director will utilize human insights and data to inform their designs, pushing the boundaries of traditional approaches to various channels and touchpoints. The goal is to portray the brand and its experience through compelling visuals that engage and excite customers across all platforms. The position is a 6-month assignment, requiring a commitment of 40 hours per week, with a hybrid work model that includes onsite work 1-2 days a week in Newark, NJ. The hourly pay ranges from $80 to $90, and the company offers a comprehensive benefits package, including group medical, dental, vision, life insurance, and a retirement savings program.

Responsibilities

  • Create strategic, conceptual solutions for experiences that are part of a customer journey and rooted in the brand.
  • Leverage strength in UX/UI and design systems to solve complex business problems with scalable designs across web, app, and email surfaces globally.
  • Advocate for and practice creative that is challenging, innovative, and culturally relevant.
  • Collaborate productively with creative and marketing partners, directing designers to develop ideas, experiences, and solutions that communicate the essence of the company product experience.
  • Utilize human insights, native behaviors, and available data to inform design decisions.
  • Push innovation in approaches to channels, platforms, and other touchpoints.
  • Portray the brand and brand experience through compelling visuals that generate excitement, understanding, and engagement across all channels.

Requirements

  • 5-7 years of Art Direction experience working on national brands at the agency or client level.
  • Experience overseeing creatives and managing relationships with internal partners and external agencies.
  • Proficiency in Figma and Adobe Creative Suite.
  • Strong belief in the impact of better design on life.
  • Experience with design systems to create cohesive solutions that scale.
  • Strong portfolio of national brand work.
  • Excellent communication skills and a collaborative mindset.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to manage multiple projects.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience designing for global markets.
  • Familiarity with Keynote, Word, and PowerPoint.
