About the position

CapTech's Customer Experience (CX) team is seeking an Art Director with a proven track record in designing sophisticated digital brand experiences that are intuitive, impactful, and accessible. The ideal candidate will be a passionate problem-solver who strives to create elegant and attractive solutions to complex business challenges while honing their craft as they grow their careers. Our Art Directors are expected to stay current with evolving methods for designing engaging products and services, approaching training in these areas with curiosity and enthusiasm. In this role, you will also mentor other designers, overseeing their work to ensure successful delivery. As an Art Director, you will possess strong conceptual and visual communication skills, with an expert understanding of interaction design and graphic design principles. You will be able to manage multiple simultaneous projects and be a strategic, brand-oriented experience designer, eager to provide innovative solutions for all your engagements. You will work comfortably within brand guidelines while also extending and enhancing the design language as needed to create more engaging and accessible designs. A confident self-starter, you will take feedback from clients and direction from Associate Creative Directors (ACDs) and Creative Directors with humility, collaborating closely with project teams. Your pixel-level attention to detail will ensure that you uphold and deliver work at the highest standards of quality.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate on creating personas, customer journeys, conceptual prototypes, and responsive interfaces that follow interaction design and usability best practices.
  • Produce clean, informative, and concise presentations to clients and internal teams that communicate the rationale behind your designs and recommendations.
  • Perform competitive brand assessments and provide innovative alternatives, as well as research and understand design and technology trends.
  • Advocate the benefits of accessible experience and visual design with clients and team members.
  • Present and articulate creative solutions to internal teams and clients with confidence, leading brainstorming sessions.
  • Discuss scope and level of effort (LOE) with senior creative team members and account team members.
  • Volunteer for CX leadership opportunities, including contributing to methodologies, capabilities, approaches, and toolset.
  • Attend and lead CX meetings and trainings, engaging in professional development and industry involvement.
  • Proactively seek to mentor others about design, providing design oversight and art direction for visual and interaction designers.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of professional experience, ideally in a consulting or agency context.
  • 4-year+ degree in design, fine arts, or similar preferred.
  • Proven written, verbal, conceptual, and visual communication skills.
  • Figma expertise is preferred, with proficiency in comparable design tools (Sketch, Adobe XD).
  • Proficiency with Illustrator, Photoshop, and InDesign, as well as PowerPoint.
  • Experience with video editing, motion design, and designing for AR/VR are pluses.
  • Working familiarity with the role of Product Designer is a plus.
  • Working knowledge of Agile product development lifecycles and practices is a plus.
  • Familiarity with WCAG and other accessibility guidelines and standards is a plus.
