About the position

CapTech's Customer Experience (CX) team is seeking an Art Director who will play a pivotal role in designing sophisticated digital brand experiences that are not only intuitive and impactful but also accessible. The ideal candidate will be a passionate problem-solver, dedicated to creating elegant and attractive solutions to complex business challenges. As an Art Director, you will be responsible for mentoring other designers, overseeing their work to ensure successful delivery, and fostering a collaborative environment that encourages creativity and innovation. In this role, you will collaborate on creating personas, customer journeys, conceptual prototypes, and responsive interfaces that adhere to interaction design and usability best practices. You will produce clean, informative, and concise presentations for clients and internal teams, effectively communicating the rationale behind your designs and recommendations. Your responsibilities will also include performing competitive brand assessments, advocating for accessible experience and visual design, and presenting creative solutions with confidence to both internal teams and clients. You will lead brainstorming sessions, discuss project scope and level of effort with senior creative and account team members, and volunteer for CX leadership opportunities. Engaging in professional development and industry involvement is crucial, as is proactively mentoring others about design. You will provide design oversight and art direction for visual and interaction designers, ensuring that all work meets the highest standards of quality and creativity.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate on creating personas, customer journeys, conceptual prototypes, and responsive interfaces following interaction design and usability best practices.
  • Produce clean, informative, and concise presentations to clients and internal teams that communicate the rationale behind designs and recommendations.
  • Perform competitive brand assessments and provide innovative alternatives, researching and understanding design and technology trends.
  • Advocate the benefits of accessible experience and visual design with clients and team members.
  • Present and articulate creative solutions to internal teams and clients with confidence.
  • Lead brainstorming sessions to generate innovative ideas and solutions.
  • Discuss scope and level of effort (LOE) with senior creative team members and account team members.
  • Volunteer for CX leadership opportunities, contributing to methodologies, capabilities, approaches, and toolset.
  • Attend and lead CX meetings and trainings, engaging in professional development and industry involvement.
  • Proactively seek to mentor others about design and provide design oversight and art direction for visual and interaction designers.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of professional experience, ideally in a consulting or agency context.
  • 4-year+ degree in design, fine arts, or similar preferred.
  • Proven written, verbal, conceptual, and visual communication skills.
  • Figma expertise is preferred, with proficiency in comparable design tools (Sketch, Adobe XD).
  • Proficiency with Illustrator, Photoshop, and InDesign, as well as PowerPoint.
  • Experience with video editing, motion design, and designing for AR/VR is a plus.
  • Working familiarity with the role of Product Designer is a plus.
  • Working knowledge of Agile product development lifecycles and practices is a plus.
  • Familiarity with WCAG and other accessibility guidelines and standards is a plus.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in a consulting or agency context.
  • Familiarity with video editing and motion design.
  • Experience designing for AR/VR.
