About the position

CapTech's Customer Experience (CX) team is seeking an Art Director with a proven track record in designing sophisticated digital brand experiences that are intuitive, impactful, and accessible. The ideal candidate will be a passionate problem-solver, dedicated to creating elegant and attractive solutions to complex business challenges while continuously honing their craft. As part of the team, the Art Director will stay current with evolving methods for designing engaging products and services, approaching training in these areas with curiosity and enthusiasm. Additionally, the Art Director will mentor other designers, overseeing their work to ensure successful delivery of projects. In this role, you will be expected to possess strong conceptual and visual communication skills, with an expert understanding of interaction design and graphic design principles. You will manage multiple simultaneous projects and be a strategic, brand-oriented experience designer, eager to provide innovative solutions for all engagements. Comfortably working within brand guidelines, you will also extend and enhance the design language as needed to create more engaging and accessible designs. A confident self-starter, you will take feedback from clients and direction from Associate Creative Directors (ACDs) and Creative Directors with humility, while collaborating closely with project teams. Your attention to detail will be paramount, ensuring that all work is delivered at the highest standards of quality. Responsibilities will include collaborating on the creation of personas, customer journeys, conceptual prototypes, and responsive interfaces that adhere to interaction design and usability best practices. You will produce clean, informative, and concise presentations to clients and internal teams, effectively communicating the rationale behind your designs and recommendations. Additionally, you will perform competitive brand assessments, advocate for accessible experience and visual design, and lead brainstorming sessions to articulate creative solutions confidently.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate on creating personas, customer journeys, conceptual prototypes, and responsive interfaces following interaction design and usability best practices.
  • Produce clean, informative, and concise presentations to clients and internal teams that communicate the rationale behind designs and recommendations.
  • Perform competitive brand assessments and provide innovative alternatives, researching and understanding design and technology trends.
  • Advocate the benefits of accessible experience and visual design with clients and team members.
  • Present and articulate creative solutions to internal teams and clients with confidence, leading brainstorming sessions.
  • Discuss scope and level of effort (LOE) with senior creative team members and account team members.
  • Volunteer for CX leadership opportunities, contributing to methodologies, capabilities, approaches, and toolset.
  • Attend and lead CX meetings and trainings, engaging in professional development and industry involvement.
  • Proactively seek to mentor others about design, providing design oversight and art direction for visual and interaction designers.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of professional experience, ideally in a consulting or agency context.
  • 4-year+ degree in design, fine arts, or similar preferred.
  • Proven written, verbal, conceptual, and visual communication skills.
  • Figma expertise preferred, with proficiency in comparable design tools (Sketch, Adobe XD).
  • Proficiency with Illustrator, Photoshop, and InDesign, as well as PowerPoint.
  • Experience with video editing, motion design, and designing for AR/VR is a plus.
  • Working familiarity with the role of Product Designer is a plus.
  • Working knowledge of Agile product development lifecycles and practices is a plus.
  • Familiarity with WCAG and other accessibility guidelines and standards is a plus.
