About the position

At Amplitude, we're looking for an Art Director to drive the execution of our visual brand. We need a smart, talented, and experienced Art Director that's excited to roll up their sleeves and take the success of our brand to the next level. Responsibilities

  • Art direct and manage creative vendors: Build out a roster and maintain relationships with design agencies and contractors. Know how to get stuff done on budget and on time.
  • Work cross-functionally: partner with many stakeholders across the organization (product marketing, people and places, product design and more) to problem solve and create good work.
  • Implement Amplitude's brand: design assets such as: content ebooks, web, product, video (design assets), social, sub-brands, presentations, events, and environmental design.
  • Uplevel and maintain our brand: Use your creative know-how to evolve the Amplitude brand. Bring the brand to life through design and visual storytelling. Build and expand on current guidelines.

Requirements

  • 7-12+ years experience in a design role.
  • Design portfolio with great work that showcases a modern design aesthetic and great taste, experience with integrated multitouchpoint campaigns, and brand awareness work.
  • Excellent understanding of formal design elements - typography, composition, color etc.
  • You know how to evolve and maintain a brand, and have a proven track record.
  • You are a person who loves to design and will roll up your sleeves but is also excellent at giving creative feedback.
  • You have a great eye and a high bar for excellence.
  • You have technical savviness - you've mastered Adobe Creative Suite and Figma.
  • Bachelor's degree in Graphic Design or equivalent experience.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in web development and ability to provide feedback to developers.
  • Animation experience.
  • Solid knowledge of photography and video production.
