About the position

As an Art Director at Condé Nast, based in our New York office, you will be at the forefront of a diverse range of commercial projects and content campaigns that require a comprehensive creative approach. This role demands expertise across various mediums including photo, video, experiential, digital, print, social, and web3. You will report directly to the commercial Creative Director for Vogue and collaborate closely with editorial stakeholders, ensuring that the creative vision aligns with the brand's standards and voice. The ideal candidate will possess a multidimensional and conceptual creative skill set, bringing a unique flair and cultural insight to industries such as fashion, beauty, technology, luxury, automotive, and travel. Your expertise in visual storytelling will be crucial as you apply a distinct point of view to create bold and impactful work for our partners. You will be responsible for the conceptual development of pitches and overseeing the creative execution during production, ensuring a smooth and efficient process across all projects. In this role, you will need to maintain a strong base of cultural and creative references, demonstrating a hard-working and collaborative attitude. You will be expected to stay current on trends in fashion, luxury, music, and the arts, while also being knowledgeable about Condé Nast's brands and culture. Your ability to think critically will help you generate ideas that fit within budget and timelines, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and pivot when necessary to achieve the best outcomes. Additionally, you will prioritize diversity, inclusivity, and representation throughout the creative process, fostering an environment of empathy and collaboration within your team.

Responsibilities

  • Conceptual development of pitches for various commercial projects.
  • Oversight of creative executions during production.
  • Collaboration with editorial stakeholders at Vogue to align creative vision.
  • Management of multiple projects while maintaining timelines and budgets.
  • Application of a distinct point of view to create bold work for partners.
  • Maintaining Condé Nast's brand voice and creative standards throughout all projects.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of professional experience art directing in media, fashion brands, or premium creative agencies.
  • Strong visual presentation skills.
  • Ability to work in-office in NYC 3 days per week.
  • Excellent proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop & InDesign) and Google Slides.
  • Extensive experience with pre- and post-production processes for video and still photography.
  • A portfolio demonstrating a visually ambitious body of work encompassing 360 creative campaigns.
  • Knowledge of new media and technology, including A.I. and web3 is a plus.
  • Highly organized with strong time-management and workload prioritization skills.

  • Motion design and basic video editing skills.
  • Passion for/experience in industry categories relevant to Vogue's community and audiences.
