About the position

Conde Nast is a global media company producing the highest quality content with a footprint of more than 1 billion consumers in 32 territories through print, digital, video, and social platforms. The company's portfolio includes many of the world's most respected and influential media properties including Vogue, Vanity Fair, Glamour, Self, GQ, The New Yorker, Conde Nast Traveler/Traveller, Allure, AD, Bon Appetit, and Wired, among others. As an Art Director based in our New York office, you will work on a wide variety of commercial projects and content campaigns requiring 360 creative expertise (photo, video, experiential, digital, print, social, web3, etc). Reporting directly to the commercial Creative Director for Vogue, you will work on a team within the Conde Nast Commercial Creative organization, collaborating regularly with editorial stakeholders at Vogue. The ideal candidate will be a multidimensional and conceptual creative who can bring flair and cultural knowledge to a wide variety of industries: fashion, beauty, technology, luxury, automotive, and travel. You're an expert in visual storytelling, and will apply a distinct point of view to bold work for our partners. You will need to bring a sound base of cultural and creative references and a hard-working collaborative attitude to every project. The role is responsible for the conceptual development of pitches and oversight of creative executions in production. The ideal candidate will be able to maintain a smooth and efficient process across all projects while upholding Conde Nast's brand voices, creative standards, and codes throughout.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver innovative and relevant art direction for multi-channel campaigns for Vogue branded content and partnership activations, including: print, web, social, video and events.
  • Partner with copywriters and other creatives on the development of creative ideas under the direction of the creative director.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams while creating visually compelling materials for presentations (conceptual overviews, moodboards, talent references, digital mock-ups, etc).
  • Manage photo research and budgets for branded content stories requiring sourced imagery for both print and digital.
  • Collaborate with the dev team to ideate and deliver digital experiences for branded content projects on Vogue.com (e.g. custom web designs & UX flow).
  • Recommend creators (photographers, filmmakers, designers and artists) for creative assignments to suit advertiser and Vogue brand styles.
  • Develop the overall art direction and visual treatment for campaigns and content programs, including graphic design elements for web/video when needed.
  • Pitch creative concepts directly to clients, and develop ideas that fit within the provided budgets and strategic objectives.
  • Ensure Conde Nast Commercial Creative ideas authentically balance the voices of our editorial brands with those of our advertisers.
  • Serve as a creative lead on set and ensure productions deliver to Conde Nast and client standards/expectations.
  • Nurture relationships with cross-functional teams in the U.S. and abroad, and bring an inspiring commercial perspective when collaborating with editorial teams.
  • Contribute to a team culture of creative risk-taking and thinking outside the box.

Requirements

  • 5+ years professional experience art directing in media, fashion brands or premium creative agencies.
  • Strong visual presentation skills.
  • Ability to work in-office in NYC 3 days per week.
  • Excellent ability with Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop & InDesign) and Google Slides.
  • Extensive experience on set and with pre- and post-production processes for video and still photography (digital and print); adept at briefing creative teams and working with production companies.
  • Passion for/experience in industry categories relevant to Vogue's community and audiences: fashion, luxury, entertainment, beauty, travel, and technology.
  • A portfolio demonstrating a visually ambitious body of work encompassing 360 creative campaigns (content and advertising), and a strong sense of fashion storytelling.
  • Knowledge of new media and technology, A.I. and web3 is a plus.
  • Highly organized, and skilled with time-management and workload prioritization.
  • Passionate about brands, ideas, stories, design and experiential, and a cultural point of view that translates to brand campaigns.

  • Motion design and basic video editing skills.

Benefits

  • Base Salary: $95k to $114k
