About the position

The Art Director at Umpqua Bank is responsible for overseeing the ideation, art direction, execution, and production of graphic content for marketing and the bank's various lines of business. This role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure that all creative outputs align with the bank's brand and strategic goals, while also leading the creative process from concept to completion across multiple media formats including web, print, video, and animations.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the ideation, art direction, execution, and production of graphics content for marketing and the bank's lines of business.
  • Develop high-level ad campaigns to support sales-driven initiatives and effectively resonate with the target audience.
  • Lead the creative process from concept to completion for all graphic content.
  • Collaborate with the Creative Director to establish the visual style and tone for all projects.
  • Ensure cohesive and effective creative outputs by working closely with design staff, copywriters, and project managers.
  • Oversee the production process, ensuring high-quality deliverables within deadlines and budget constraints.
  • Maintain brand consistency across all marketing materials and channels.
  • Stay updated with industry trends and best practices to enhance the bank's creative efforts.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Graphic Design, Fine Arts, or a related field.
  • 5+ years minimum of experience in art direction, preferably within a corporate or financial services environment.
  • Proficient in Microsoft 365 applications including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Teams.
  • Knowledge of HTML/CSS and web design principles.
  • Understanding of marketing strategies and effective communication through design.
  • Basic photo and video editing skills for post-production using Adobe Photoshop and Premiere.
  • Experience with environmental design focusing on immersive and interactive experiences.
  • Hands-on experience with photo and video shoot productions and directing large crews and talent.
  • Strong portfolio showcasing expertise in web, print, campaigns, video, and animation projects.
  • Proficiency in design software such as Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, After Effects).
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
