About the position

Apex Art Lab is seeking an experienced Art Installer to join our small team of creatives dedicated to providing innovative approaches to contemporary art, framing, and installation. Our clientele includes interior designers, private collectors, small businesses, corporations, galleries, architects, and emerging artists. The Art Installer will play a crucial role in delivering professional art hanging services for both residential and commercial projects. This part-time position is expected to start at 24-32 hours per week, typically scheduled from Monday to Thursday between 9 AM and 6 PM, with occasional Fridays. Flexibility in scheduling is essential, as there may be days when work starts early or extends later than usual. Importantly, this role does not require weekend work. The Art Installer will be responsible for visiting clients' homes to provide expert consultations on art placement, including advice on collages, groupings, and proper height for installations. The role also involves installing large-scale projects in commercial spaces, utilizing T-lock security hardware, and occasionally installing other wall-mounted fixtures. Additional responsibilities may include deliveries and pickups, fine art handling, and art packing. Depending on the individual hired and the weekly schedule, there may be opportunities for additional work in our production facility or showroom, which could involve picture framing, assistance with art sourcing, and contributions to social media and marketing efforts. We are looking for someone who not only has the technical skills required for art handling and installation but also fits well within our laid-back yet professional company culture. Punctuality, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently or collaboratively are essential traits for this position. Responsibilities

  • Visiting clients' homes to provide professional art hanging services.

Requirements

  • Experience with art handling is a must.
  • Must have a valid driver's license and a reliable vehicle.
  • Experience using hand tools such as drills, tape measures, and levels.
  • Comfortable performing basic math, including measuring and working with fractions.
  • Good eye for design and aesthetics.
  • Ability to work well in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented environment.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently or collaboratively with others.
  • Friendly and flexible attitude, willing to work with various clients.
  • Punctuality is essential.
  • Ability to safely lift items weighing up to 50 pounds.
  • Problem-solving skills on the spot.
