About the position

This role involves teaching a diverse range of art forms, including acrylic, watercolor, oil pastel, and drawing, while fostering a supportive learning environment that encourages creativity and self-expression.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement engaging art curriculum that aligns with educational standards.
• Plan and conduct lessons in various art forms, including painting and drawing.
• Assess student progress and provide constructive feedback to enhance their artistic skills.
• Organize art exhibitions or showcases to display student work and promote community involvement.
• Create a positive classroom environment that encourages collaboration and creativity among students.
• Maintain an inventory of art supplies and manage classroom resources effectively.
• Collaborate with other educators to integrate art into cross-curricular projects.
• Provide guidance for students interested in pursuing further education in the arts or related fields.
• Clean the art room after each class.

Requirements

• Art Education or a related field preferred.
• Experience in teaching or working with children in an educational setting is highly desirable.
• Strong skills in various artistic disciplines.
• Ability to develop lesson plans that cater to different learning styles and abilities.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to inspire and motivate students.
• Knowledge of curriculum development and assessment methods for art education.
• A passion for fostering creativity and encouraging self-expression among students.
• Previous experience in adult education is a plus.
