About the position

The Art Teacher position at Pasco High School is an anticipated vacancy for the 2024-2025 school year, aimed at providing a comprehensive educational experience for high school students in grades 9-12. The teacher will be responsible for developing, planning, organizing, and implementing an instructional program that aligns with the curriculum and educational standards. This role requires the creation of lesson plans and educational programs that foster creativity and artistic expression among students while ensuring adherence to safety and security protocols as well as compliance with federal, state, and local regulations. The position is full-time and benefit-eligible, requiring the teacher to work 196 days per year. The successful candidate will be expected to engage students in various art forms, encouraging them to explore their artistic talents and develop their skills. The teacher will also be responsible for assessing student progress and providing feedback to help them improve their artistic abilities. Collaboration with other educators and participation in school events may also be part of the role, contributing to a vibrant school community. Additionally, the position may require teaching an extra period beyond the base contract, for which additional compensation will be provided. This extra teaching responsibility is compensated at a negotiated rate, currently set at $5500 for a full year, and is considered part of the salary for Florida Retirement System purposes.
