About the position

An Art teacher is needed to start in Fall 2024! This position is located in Milwaukee and is offered by Goodwill TalentBridge for an urban, Christian Faith Based Charter School organization with multiple locations in Milwaukee and Racine. The role is full-time and offers a salary range of $42,000 to $55,000 per year. A bachelor's degree is required, but a valid teaching certification is not necessary to start. New graduates and established teachers are encouraged to apply. The Art teacher will be responsible for student achievement and character development, taking personal responsibility for the academic outcomes of every student. This includes delivering measurable academic growth and increasing every student's achievement while setting and holding students to high academic and behavioral standards. The teacher will embody and demonstrate values that reflect those of the organization, ensuring that students exhibit the same values. In terms of teaching excellence, the Art teacher will set measurable, ambitious, and attainable goals for the year and each interim assessment cycle. They will develop and implement daily lesson plans aligned to the curricular goals of the organization, conduct interim assessments, track student progress, and perform regular data analysis to determine student mastery. A variety of rigorous formative and summative assessments will be used to evaluate individual academic progress and adjust instructional plans to meet the needs of students. The teacher will employ creative, differentiated, and research-based instructional strategies to ensure students are actively engaged in meaningful learning experiences. The classroom culture is also a key focus, where the teacher will develop a positive, achievement-oriented, and structured learning environment. This includes setting and reinforcing clear expectations and routines that align with school-wide values and policies, as well as recognizing and celebrating student achievement and character development. Building rapport with students, parents, and families is essential, as is maintaining open lines of communication to invest families in their children's academic success. Personal effectiveness is crucial, with the teacher expected to continually improve their teaching skills by seeking constructive feedback and professional development opportunities. They will maintain accurate and complete records, including attendance, behavior, student achievement data, and grades. Involvement in the school community is also important, as the teacher will collaborate with team members to ensure a loving, rigorous, and safe environment, actively participate in faculty meetings and professional development, and take on additional responsibilities as requested by school leaders.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain accurate and complete records, including but not limited to: attendance, behavior, student achievement data, grades, progress reports, parent communication, textbooks, etc.
  • Collaborate with team members to ensure a loving, rigorous, safe environment across the entire school.
  • Assume responsibility for student success by holding all students accountable to school-wide behavioral expectations.
  • Actively and professionally participate in all faculty and staff meetings, professional development, and events.
  • Work with peers to enhance the school's professional learning community.
  • Teach, lead, or assist other educational programs outside of regular school hours.
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as requested by school leaders.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • Entry-level teaching experience preferred (1 year).
  • Childcare CPR Certification preferred.
  • Teaching Certification not required.
