About the position

The Art Teacher position at Gallego Intermediate 4-8 School involves developing and implementing a curriculum program that aligns with District educational goals and objectives. The teacher will be responsible for creating a safe and respectful classroom environment, assessing student needs, and modifying instruction to meet those needs. The role requires collaboration with parents and specialists to support student learning and progress.

Responsibilities

• Observe and monitor student behavior in various settings including classroom, playground, and field trips.
• Establish and maintain a classroom atmosphere that ensures emotional and physical safety.
• Develop, implement, and evaluate daily lesson plans tailored to student needs.
• Utilize classroom management techniques to maintain organization and a productive learning environment.
• Evaluate student progress and course curriculum, making necessary adjustments.
• Communicate with parents regarding student progress and instructional methods.
• Collaborate with instructional teams to promote learning activities.
• Order classroom supplies and instructional materials.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Education or related field.
• Valid Arizona Elementary 1-8 Teaching Certificate.
• Valid Arizona IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card.
• Knowledge of State and Federal activities standards.
• Understanding of developmental levels of school-age children.

Nice-to-haves
