About the position

Lake Washington High School is seeking a qualified Art Teacher for the first semester of the 2024-2025 school year. This position is a leave replacement, specifically from August 26, 2024, to January 26, 2025. The ideal candidate will possess a Washington State teaching certificate with an Art/Visual Arts endorsement. The role involves teaching high school students in various art disciplines, fostering creativity, and developing students' artistic skills. The selected candidate will be responsible for creating lesson plans, assessing student progress, and maintaining a positive classroom environment that encourages artistic expression and collaboration among students. As an Art Teacher, you will engage students in a variety of artistic techniques and mediums, guiding them through projects that enhance their understanding of art history, theory, and practice. You will also be expected to collaborate with other faculty members to integrate art into the broader curriculum and participate in school events that promote the arts. Building administrators will reach out to candidates selected for interviews, and the position offers a competitive salary based on the teacher salary schedule, along with additional contracts for LEAP days and responsibilities. A technology stipend and professional fund are also available to support your teaching efforts. This position is exempt under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) and is part of a smoke-free workplace. Responsibilities
