The Art Teacher for Elementary at Arlington Independent School District is responsible for providing students with engaging learning activities and experiences that promote their intellectual, emotional, physical, and social growth. The role is designed to enable students to develop the necessary competencies and skills to function successfully in society. The teacher will implement lesson plans that align with the district's curriculum, ensuring that all students have the opportunity to learn in a supportive and inclusive environment. The position requires a valid Texas teaching certificate and a Bachelor's degree from an accredited university. The teacher will work closely with special education staff to modify curricula as needed and will utilize technology to enhance the teaching and learning process. The Art Teacher will also be responsible for creating a classroom environment that is conducive to learning and appropriate for the physical, social, and emotional development of students. This includes managing student behavior in accordance with the Student Code of Conduct and maintaining open communication with parents, students, and colleagues. The teacher will conduct ongoing assessments of student achievement and will help students analyze and improve their study methods and habits. Participation in staff development activities to improve job-related skills is also expected, along with compliance with state, district, and school regulations and policies for classroom teachers.
