About the position

We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Art Teacher to inspire creativity and foster artistic skills among preschool students. The ideal candidate will have experience working with children and a strong understanding of literacy education. This role involves developing engaging art curricula, providing instruction in various art techniques, and promoting a positive learning environment that encourages self-expression.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement comprehensive art curricula that align with educational standards and cater to diverse learning styles.
  • Provide instruction in various artistic mediums, including drawing, painting, sculpture, and digital art.
  • Foster a supportive classroom environment that encourages creativity, collaboration, and respect for individual expression.
  • Assess student progress and provide constructive feedback to enhance their artistic skills.
  • Communicate effectively with students, parents, and staff regarding student progress and any concerns related to child welfare.
  • Collaborate with other educators to integrate art into broader educational initiatives and support early intervention strategies for students needing additional assistance.
  • Participate in professional development opportunities to stay current with best practices in art education and curriculum development.

Requirements

  • Experience working with children in an educational or daycare setting is preferred.
  • Strong background in literacy education and the ability to integrate it into art lessons.
  • Experience in tutoring or providing individualized support to students is a plus.
  • Knowledge of child welfare practices and the ability to communicate effectively with parents and guardians.
  • Familiarity with math concepts as they relate to art (e.g., geometry in design) is beneficial.
  • Proven ability to develop engaging curricula that meet the needs of diverse learners.
  • A degree in Art Education or a related field is preferred but not required; relevant experience will be considered.
