About the position

The Art Teacher at Eva Carlston Academy is responsible for providing academic instruction in art curriculum for students in grades 8-12, specifically on Fridays. This role involves collaboration with the treatment team to create a therapeutic educational environment that supports the emotional and behavioral needs of adolescent girls in a residential treatment setting. The position emphasizes teaching art foundations aligned with Utah Common Core standards and providing constructive feedback to students.

Responsibilities

• Teach art foundations curriculum aligned with Utah Common Core standards.
• Provide academic instruction on Fridays from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, excluding scheduled breaks.
• Collaborate with the treatment team to create a therapeutic educational environment.
• Provide feedback to students in accordance with grading standards.
• Employ classroom management techniques consistent with program expectations.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Art or related field.
• Utah Teaching License preferred, not required.
• 1 year of teaching experience preferred.
• Experience in residential treatment settings is preferred but not required.
