About the position

The Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake Central School District is seeking a dedicated and passionate High School Art Teacher for a Long Term Substitute position. This role is focused on inspiring students' creativity and skills in art, particularly in ceramics, while providing a supportive and inclusive learning environment. The teacher will be responsible for preparing art materials, delivering lessons, and encouraging student participation in local art exhibitions during the specified term.

Responsibilities

• Prepare art materials for student use.
• Develop and deliver lessons on various art techniques.
• Provide developmentally appropriate instruction in art.
• Support student participation in local art exhibitions.
• Manage classroom effectively to accommodate diverse learning abilities.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Art Education, Fine Arts, or a related field (Master's degree preferred).
• Valid teaching certification in Art Education (or the ability to obtain one).
• Proven experience teaching art at the elementary, middle, or high school level.
• Strong knowledge of various art techniques, mediums, and contemporary art practices.
• Excellent classroom management skills.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to inspire and motivate students creatively.
