The Art Teacher position at Windham Primary School is a part-time role, requiring the instructor to teach one day per week. In this position, the teacher will be responsible for delivering knowledge and skills in various art forms, including crafts, drawing, painting, lettering, design, commercial art, art history, and 3-dimensional art. The curriculum will follow the course of study adopted by the Board of Education, ensuring that students receive a comprehensive education in the arts. The teacher will also instruct pupils in citizenship and basic subject matter as specified by state law and the administrative regulations of the school district. The role involves demonstrating techniques in activities such as drawing, painting, and modeling, using both standard and teacher-prepared instructional aids. The teacher will develop instructional plans and organize class time to provide a balanced program of instruction, demonstration, and working time. Individual and small group instruction will be provided to adapt the curriculum to meet the diverse needs of pupils with varying intellectual and artistic abilities. Additionally, the teacher will establish and maintain standards of pupil behavior to ensure an orderly and productive studio environment, while also performing necessary non-teaching duties essential to the day-to-day operation of the school.
