About the position

One River School of Art & Design is seeking part-time Contemporary Art Teachers to join our team, starting in September 2024. This role is ideal for individuals who are passionate about art education and want to inspire creativity in students of all ages, including kids, teens, and adults. Our classes are typically scheduled for weekday afternoons and weekends, beginning at 3:30 PM, making it a perfect opportunity for public and private school art teachers or current graduate art students looking to earn extra income while doing what they love. At One River, we have developed a proprietary art educational system that emphasizes contemporary art education. Our curriculum is centrally created, which means minimal preparation is required for teachers. All necessary tools, equipment, and supplies are provided, allowing you to focus on teaching and engaging with your students. You will have the opportunity to teach a variety of subjects, including Drawing, Painting, Sculpture, Mixed Media, Cartooning, Manga, Digital Art, Animation, Design, and Street Art, among others. In addition to onsite teaching at our school locations, we also offer travel teacher opportunities for those willing to deliver our curriculum in after-school programs at local schools and other community art enrichment programs. Since our inception in 2012, One River School has been dedicated to transforming art education, teaching thousands of students across 14 schools in six states. Our state-of-the-art studios provide a unique teaching experience, complemented by gallery spaces that showcase student work and feature emerging contemporary artists. Responsibilities

• Teach art classes to kids, teens, and adults in various subjects including Drawing, Painting, Sculpture, Mixed Media, Cartooning, Manga, Digital Art, Animation, Design, and Street Art.
• Deliver engaging and interactive lessons based on a centrally created curriculum.
• Provide a supportive and inspiring environment for students to explore their creativity.
• Utilize state-of-the-art tools and equipment provided by the school.
• Participate in community art enrichment programs as a travel teacher, if interested.

Requirements

• Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA) or Bachelor of Science (BS) in Art Education or a related field.
• At least 1 year of experience teaching art or digital design classes.
• Strong communication skills to effectively engage with students and parents.
• A passion for One River School's mission and commitment to transforming art education.
