About the position

The Art Teacher position at Tinker Art Studio involves teaching art classes to upper elementary and high school students. The role is part-time and temporary, focusing on fostering creativity and artistic skills in a supportive environment. Classes are held once a week on Wednesdays, with opportunities for future teaching roles depending on performance and fit within the team.

Responsibilities

• Greeting students and facilitating pick up and parent communication.
• Introducing and teaching art projects using effective teaching strategies.
• Creating a safe, supportive, and fun studio environment for students.
• Setting up, breaking down, and prepping art materials and supplies.
• Implementing Tinker's values and adhering to the curriculum.

Requirements

• Background and experience in education/teaching art to upper elementary and teen students.
• Teaching license preferred.
• Teaching experience in a school setting preferred.
• Ability to communicate effectively with supervisors and teammates.
• Experience with painting, drawing, mixed media, and various art mediums.
• Genuine enjoyment for working with children and teens.
• Ability to implement Tinker's curriculum focused on community and relationship building.
• Excellent people skills and enjoyment for being around people.
• Ability to efficiently prioritize tasks with a positive work ethic.
• Excellent organizational skills.
• Ability to lift and move up to 50 lbs.

Benefits

• Compensation of $24-$25 per hour, depending on experience.
• Bonus of $60 - $80 at the conclusion of the semester if commitments are fulfilled.
• Onboarding compensation at $14.42/hr.
• Curriculum training/trials pay rate of $14.42/hr.
