About the position

The Freedom School is seeking a passionate and creative Art Teacher to inspire students through engaging art lessons. This part-time role focuses on fostering a love for creativity and self-expression while developing students' artistic skills and integrating essential educational concepts.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement art curriculum that aligns with educational standards and promotes creativity.
• Educate students on various art techniques, mediums, and historical contexts.
• Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages student participation.
• Utilize behavior management strategies to maintain classroom discipline while fostering a supportive atmosphere.
• Assess student progress and provide constructive feedback to enhance their artistic development.
• Collaborate with other educators to integrate art into broader educational themes, including math and science.
• Engage with parents and guardians to discuss student progress and encourage support for their child's artistic endeavors.

Requirements

• A degree in Art Education or a related field is preferred.
• Experience in teaching art or working with children in an educational setting is highly desirable.
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively convey artistic concepts to students.
• Class management experience highly desirable.
• Previous experience in tutoring or childcare can be beneficial for understanding individual student needs.
