About the position

Stride K12, a leader in online education, is seeking a dedicated Art Teacher to join our team. This full-time position requires an Art Teaching Certification in the state of Missouri. The ideal candidate will create a positive and engaging learning environment, encouraging students to explore their creativity and develop their artistic skills. As an Art Teacher, you will be responsible for providing both synchronous and asynchronous learning experiences, ensuring that each student receives personalized feedback and instruction tailored to their individual needs. You will monitor student progress, apply data-driven strategies to enhance performance, and maintain a professional home office environment conducive to teaching. In this role, you will engage with students daily, providing targeted feedback and differentiating instruction based on their mastery levels. You will also be responsible for creating a welcoming classroom atmosphere, adhering to course management guidelines, and actively participating in curriculum development. Collaboration with other educators is essential, as you will attend monthly data analysis meetings to interpret student data and drive instructional decisions. Your commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion will be vital in fostering a supportive learning environment for all students. The position requires a Bachelor's degree and an active state teaching license, along with proficiency in Microsoft Office applications. You will need to adapt to new technologies and teaching platforms quickly. Experience in a synchronous teaching environment and familiarity with online learning platforms are preferred. Stride offers a competitive salary range of $24,000 to $45,000, with eligibility for bonuses and a robust benefits package, including health benefits and retirement contributions. This is a home-based position, and while most work will be conducted remotely, some travel may be required for state testing and community events.

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct, engaging synchronous and asynchronous learning experiences for students daily.
  • Deliver targeted, personalized feedback using a variety of techniques.
  • Differentiate instruction based on student level of mastery.
  • Schedule time daily to access the learning management system and review student progress and grade submitted assignments.
  • Create a welcoming class environment adhering to course set-up and management guidelines.
  • Actively learn and engage in curriculum development.
  • Analyze student data and identify appropriate actions that improve student achievement.
  • Adhere to state and client-specific policies and procedures, meeting non-negotiable deadlines.
  • Support in-class facilitators with classroom management and instructional issues in a virtual environment.
  • Commit to personalizing learning for all students.
  • Attend monthly data analysis meetings and collaborate with other teachers to interpret student data.
  • Complete additional training as part of the teacher induction program and annually as required.
  • Create and/or augment course content using appropriate tools under guidance from the manager and content team.
  • Establish and maintain positive rapport with families and communicate with all stakeholders in a timely manner.
  • Obtain additional state certifications as requested and maintain all active certifications.
  • Work on additional projects as needed.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Education or related field.
  • Active state teaching license in Art.
  • Ability to clear required background check.
  • Ability to complete training within two weeks.
  • Receptive to receiving coaching on a regular basis with administrators and teacher trainers.
  • Ability to embrace change and adapt to ensure excellent student outcomes.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Outlook, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to rapidly learn and adapt to new technologies and teaching platforms.

Nice-to-haves
