About the position

The Art Teacher position at East Middle School is designed for a passionate educator who is committed to fostering creativity and artistic expression among middle school students. Additionally, the Art Teacher will assess student progress, provide constructive feedback, and adapt lessons to accommodate varying skill levels and learning styles. Collaboration with other educators and participation in school-wide events will be essential, as the Art Teacher will contribute to the overall educational experience of students. The role also involves maintaining an organized and safe classroom, managing art supplies, and ensuring that students understand the importance of respecting materials and each other’s work. The Art Teacher will play a vital role in promoting the value of the arts within the school community and may also have opportunities to showcase student artwork in exhibitions or competitions.

Responsibilities

Requirements

  • Valid Visual Arts P-12 License required for teaching art.

  • Ability to create a positive and inclusive classroom environment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage with students, parents, and staff.

Nice-to-haves
