About the position

Lincoln Park Public Schools is announcing a vacancy for the position of Art Teacher for the 2025-2026 school year at the high school level. This position may also include any other roles that arise from this posting.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and maintain an engaging Art program to enhance curriculum and instructional quality
  • Deliver project-based Art instruction that fosters creativity and critical thinking
  • Motivate and engage students in Art education through dynamic and interactive lessons
  • Utilize research-based instructional strategies and effective classroom management techniques
  • Apply formative assessments and integrate technology to enhance student learning
  • Implement differentiated instruction based on student learning theories and brain-based research
  • Collaborate with colleagues to support student achievement and instructional goals
  • Incorporate technology effectively into Art instruction and classroom activities
  • Utilize diverse instructional methods, data analysis, and technology to improve teaching outcomes
  • Align instruction with State Benchmarks and academic standards
  • Maintain accurate records and complete required documentation in a timely manner
  • Communicate effectively with students, parents, colleagues, and the school community
  • Adhere to the educational philosophy and expectations of Lincoln Park Public Schools
  • Work cooperatively with staff, administration, and the broader school community
  • Follow directives and requirements set by supervisors and school leadership
  • Manage classroom instruction and maintain student records efficiently
  • Meet the physical and mental demands of the teaching profession and position requirements
  • Provide classroom instruction and keep accurate student records
  • Other duties as assigned

Requirements

  • Valid Michigan Teaching Certificate with proper endorsement (LX, LQ, or LZ)
  • Must meet North Central requirements for the position
  • A minimum of 5 years classroom teaching experience preferred
  • Knowledge of or strong interest in Art education programs
  • Must meet MCL 380.1531 & Administrative Rules Governing the Certification of MI Teachers
  • Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board of Education and/or Superintendent may find appropriate and acceptable
