About the position
The Hamilton Township School District is seeking a dedicated and passionate Art Teacher for the upcoming 2024-2025 school year. This position will involve teaching art to students in grades K-5, fostering creativity and artistic expression among young learners. The ideal candidate will possess a New Jersey Instructional Certificate for Art and demonstrate the ability to engage and instruct students at various skill levels. The role requires a commitment to the 2020 Visual and Performing Arts Standards and an understanding of Charlotte Danielson's Framework for Teaching, which will enhance the educational experience for students. The Art Teacher will be responsible for creating a dynamic and inclusive classroom environment that encourages students to explore their artistic talents and develop their skills in various art forms. Additionally, the teacher will be expected to collaborate with other educators and participate in school-wide initiatives to promote the arts within the curriculum.
Responsibilities
- Instruct primary and intermediate-grade students (K-5) in art education.
- Develop and implement lesson plans that align with the 2020 Visual and Performing Arts Standards.
- Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment that fosters creativity.
- Assess and evaluate student progress in art skills and knowledge.
- Collaborate with other teachers and staff to integrate art into the broader curriculum.
- Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance teaching practices.
Requirements
- New Jersey Instructional Certificate - Teacher of Art (CE, CEAS, Provisional, or Standard).
- Ability to instruct primary and intermediate-grade students (K-5).
- Willingness to work with students at all levels.
- Knowledge of 2020 Visual and Performing Arts Standards.
- Knowledge of Charlotte Danielson's Framework for Teaching (a plus).
