About the position

The Art Teacher position at East Orange School District is responsible for the instructional planning, implementation, and development of the art curriculum for high school students. Responsibilities

• Plan and implement art curriculum based on established objectives.
• Prepare and submit daily lesson plans with measurable objectives.
• Adapt teaching methods and materials to meet diverse student needs.
• Engage students in local, state, and national competitions.
• Maintain a safe and conducive classroom environment.
• Communicate lesson objectives clearly to students.
• Utilize a variety of instructional strategies and materials.
• Encourage high expectations for student performance and critical thinking skills.
• Collaborate with colleagues to develop interdisciplinary curricula.
• Maintain accurate records of student progress and attendance.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Education or related field.
• Valid New Jersey Instructional Certificate.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong interpersonal skills.
• Criminal history background check and proof of U.S. citizenship or legal resident alien status.
