About the position

Multicultural Academy Charter School is seeking a passionate and certified Art Teacher to join our dynamic team, serving students from Kindergarten through 11th grade. This role is ideal for someone dedicated to nurturing young talents and enhancing the artistic capabilities of our diverse student body. As an Art Teacher, you will inspire creativity and foster a love for artistic expression among our students. You will develop and implement comprehensive lesson plans that align with the school's curriculum and educational standards, instructing students on various art forms and techniques, including drawing, painting, sculpture, and digital media. In this position, you will foster a supportive and inclusive learning environment that encourages creativity and self-expression. You will provide constructive feedback to students to enhance their artistic skills and confidence, and incorporate interdisciplinary connections between art and other subjects to enrich the learning experience. Collaboration with fellow educators and administrators will be essential to integrate art into the broader school community. Additionally, you will organize and participate in art exhibitions, showcases, and events to celebrate student achievements, while maintaining accurate records of student progress and achievement, and communicating regularly with parents and guardians.

Responsibilities

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Art Education or related field; Master's degree preferred.
• Valid state certification or licensure as an Art Teacher (K-12).
• Proven experience in teaching art to elementary, middle, and/or high school students.
• Strong knowledge of art history, various art techniques, and contemporary art practices.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with students, parents, and colleagues.
• Passion for art education and a commitment to fostering creativity in young minds.
• Ability to differentiate instruction to meet the diverse needs of students.
