About the position

Super Awesome Cool Pottery in Orlando, FL is seeking enthusiastic and dedicated art teachers to join our vibrant team. Our ideal candidates are those who are attentive, punctual, and hard-working, with a passion for working with children and creating art. We offer both part-time and full-time positions, with starting pay at $16.00 per hour, increasing to $17.50 per hour after the first 90 days. Full-time salaried positions come with paid time off (PTO) and health insurance benefits. In this role, you will have the opportunity to engage with students and customers in a fun and creative environment, where making art is not just a job but a joyful experience. The classes will be held at various locations throughout the town, so reliable transportation is essential, and driving will be compensated. Candidates must also pass a background check to ensure a safe environment for our students. We are particularly interested in individuals who have experience in making and/or teaching art or arts and crafts, as well as those who have worked with children in various capacities such as classroom teachers, daycare providers, camp leaders, or volunteers. We value creativity and are open to applicants with diverse skills, including clay sculpture, potter's wheel experience, photography, graphic design, and social media marketing. A college-level education in art, art education, or teaching is preferred but not mandatory. Responsibilities

  • Teach art classes to children and adults in a fun and engaging manner.
  • Prepare and organize art materials and supplies for classes.
  • Ensure a safe and positive learning environment for all students.
  • Assist students in developing their artistic skills and creativity.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the studio space.
  • Communicate effectively with students and parents regarding class progress and activities.
  • Drive to various class locations as needed, with compensation for travel.

Requirements

  • Experience in teaching art or arts and crafts.
  • Experience working with children in educational or recreational settings.
  • Attention to detail and ability to follow instructions.
  • Reliable transportation to travel to different class locations.
  • Ability to pass a background check.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with clay sculpture and potter's wheel.
  • Background in photography or graphic design.
  • Familiarity with social media platforms for marketing purposes.
  • Completion of college-level classes or degrees in Art, Art Education, or Teaching.
