About the position

The Artificial Intelligence Engineer at ManTech International Corporation plays a crucial role in supporting government customers by providing expertise in Test and Evaluation (T&E) for AI/ML enabled systems. This position involves working on innovative projects that contribute to national security while offering opportunities for career advancement. The role requires a comprehensive understanding of the System Engineering Life Cycle and involves responsibilities such as test planning, execution, data management, and algorithm development.

Responsibilities

  • Provide T&E expertise on a wide range of Science and Technology activities and missions, including test planning, execution, data management, and reporting with an emphasis on AI/ML systems.
  • Provide Test and Evaluation oversight support for multiple government programs, focusing on AI/ML enabled systems.
  • Conduct Test and Evaluation Technical Analysis as part of an integrated program team, providing technical advisory and oversight to the government test and evaluation division lead.
  • Evaluate the performance of AI solutions using appropriate metrics and validation techniques.
  • Conduct thorough testing to identify and address issues related to accuracy, robustness, and generalization of AI interfaces.
  • Design and develop machine learning algorithms, deep learning models, and statistical methods to solve complex problems, including data preprocessing and model evaluation.
  • Review AI algorithms and models using programming languages such as Python, R, or TensorFlow.
  • Analyze risks with large datasets to extract meaningful insights and patterns.
  • Support the deployment and integration of trained models into production environments, ensuring scalability and performance.
  • Develop guides and training materials for T&E of Artificial Intelligence and update seminar content.

Requirements

  • Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, or related field with AI/ML experience and T&E interfaces.
  • In-depth knowledge of machine learning algorithms and deep learning frameworks (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch).
  • Experience with data manipulation, analysis, and visualization libraries (e.g., NumPy, pandas, Matplotlib).
  • Familiarity with software development best practices, version control systems (e.g., Git), and agile methodologies.
  • Experience with natural language processing (NLP), computer vision, reinforcement learning, or other specialized areas of AI.
  • Knowledge of cloud computing platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
  • Experience with big data processing frameworks (e.g., Spark, Hadoop) and distributed computing guidelines.
  • Must be trained/certified or willing to be trained/certified to the DHS T&E Certification Level III equivalency.

Nice-to-haves

  • Knowledge of Department of Homeland Security mission space.
  • Experience with DHS Acquisition Directives and Acquisition Lifecycle Framework (MD102/ALF).
  • Ability to support and perform assessments of T&E artifacts such as the T&E Master Plan (TEMP) and Operational Test and Evaluation Plans.
