About the position

As the Lead AI Governance at Cardinal Health's Artificial Intelligence Center of Excellence, you will be instrumental in establishing and overseeing AI governance policies. This role focuses on ensuring that AI systems are developed and deployed ethically, transparently, and in compliance with regulations. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and enforce governance frameworks that align with organizational goals, driving transformation in healthcare through innovative AI solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Create and maintain an AI catalog documenting all AI initiatives, tools, models, and their governance statuses.
  • Develop and implement an ROI framework for evaluating the effectiveness and financial impact of AI projects.
  • Create Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for AI governance processes to ensure consistency and compliance.
  • Lead the creation and continuous improvement of internal AI governance policies and guidelines.
  • Oversee adherence to established AI policy guidelines and ethical standards throughout the organization.
  • Ensure AI initiatives comply with applicable legal and regulatory frameworks.
  • Provide expert advice on navigating risks related to data privacy and AI vulnerabilities.
  • Collaborate with teams managing AI-related risks to identify, evaluate, and mitigate potential hazards.
  • Deploy ongoing monitoring mechanisms to maintain conformity with ethical standards across AI systems.
  • Manage the procedural aspects of AI governance to secure a methodical and replicable framework.
  • Advocate for transparency and accountability in the use of artificial intelligence.
  • Analyze complex data and unique outcomes/customers in different Business Units to build a cohesive story around the value of AI.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in mathematics, Statistics, Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent years of relevant work experience.
  • 8-12 years of experience in AI governance or related fields.
  • Strong grasp of AI technologies and ability to explain complex concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Experience in establishing and managing governance programs across organizations.
  • Ability to influence leaders and secure buy-in for governance programs.
  • Experience with organizational transformation through AI.
