About the position

Riverside Research is seeking an Artificial Intelligence / Machine Learning Engineer to support the development of automation solutions for complex Scientific & Technical Intelligence problems. This role involves working with a skilled team to analyze intelligence data and create innovative AI/ML algorithms and software tools, primarily using Python and TensorFlow. The position requires a strong understanding of AI/ML practices and the ability to manage and curate datasets effectively.

Responsibilities

  • Develop prototype AI/ML algorithms and associated software tools using Python and TensorFlow.
  • Train AI/ML models and tune their hyperparameters for specific datasets and objectives.
  • Visualize hyperparameter optimization spaces with TensorBoard for optimal parameter selection.
  • Provide customized solutions for data quality control to ensure accurate functional mappings for AI/ML algorithms.
  • Develop databases, data lakes, and data warehouses for organizing structured and unstructured datasets.
  • Apply machine learning and computer vision best practices to analyze large remote sensing datasets.
  • Stay updated with state-of-the-art practices in AI/ML and implement innovative solutions for remote sensing problems.
  • Contribute to code reviews and adhere to documentation practices, following Python PEP8 standards.

Requirements

  • Must have a minimum of Secret clearance and be able to obtain and maintain a TS/SCI clearance.
  • 2 years of experience and a Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, Physics, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Proficiency in Python-based end-to-end AI/ML model development lifecycle using TensorFlow.
  • Awareness of version control, branches, merge conflict resolution, and general git usage.
  • Proficient in collaborative Office 365 tools such as MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to work closely with subject-matter experts to develop necessary tools, algorithms, and datasets.
  • Strong analytic, inferencing, critical thinking, and creative problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to communicate highly technical results and methods clearly.

Nice-to-haves

  • Advanced degree (MS/PhD) in Data Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, a Physical Science, or Engineering with 10 years of experience.
  • Active TS/SCI Security Clearance.
