About the position

The Artificial Intelligence/Machine Learning Specialist at Unissant, Inc. will support a federal health agency by developing and deploying advanced AI/ML models to enhance administrative efficiencies through applied information technology. This role involves collaboration with engineering teams to create innovative AI solutions, optimize model performance, and ensure compliance with data privacy regulations. The position is fully remote and requires a strong background in AI/ML engineering, as well as the ability to communicate technical information effectively across various organizational levels.

Responsibilities

  • Drive a big data approach to manage and enrich data for new insights.
  • Develop, train, and deploy advanced AI/ML models, including generative AI techniques.
  • Design and implement innovative AI solutions for complex business challenges.
  • Optimize model performance for accuracy, efficiency, and scalability.
  • Develop and maintain user-friendly AI applications and interfaces.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate AI solutions into existing systems.
  • Stay updated with advancements in AI/ML and emerging technologies.
  • Conduct research and experiments to explore new AI techniques and applications.
  • Ensure compliance with data privacy and security regulations.
  • Brief technology partners and stakeholders on technology solutions.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in Information Technology focusing on AI/ML engineering projects.
  • Experience in architecture & design, with a preference for 3 years deploying production enterprise applications.
  • Experience with large-scale, high-performance enterprise big data application deployment.
  • Experience with machine learning and generative AI frameworks.
  • Experience with natural language processing techniques.
  • Solid understanding of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and deployment strategies.
  • Knowledge of database systems (SQL, NoSQL) and data warehousing concepts.
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, R, or Java.

Nice-to-haves

  • AWS/Azure/GCP AI/ML certifications preferred.
