About the position

The Artificial Intelligence/Machine Learning Tech Fellow at Amentum is a part-time role designed for experienced professionals to serve as technical experts within the AI/ML discipline. This position supports the Amentum Space Exploration Group (ASEG) by providing leadership, mentoring, and innovative solutions to enhance technical capabilities and workforce development. The role involves collaboration with other technical fellows and management to drive technical direction and resolve challenges in space exploration.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate coordination, communication, and collaboration with other Technical Fellows and management.
• Provide recommendations for internal ASEG programs to broaden and develop skills.
• Apply analytical, design, and test tools to enhance capabilities at MSFC.
• Leverage experience to effectively apply technologies and tools in the technical discipline.
• Conduct special projects as assigned by management.
• Develop and maintain networks to assist with hiring managers in meeting team support requirements.
• Support technical discipline recruiting efforts.
• Engage in education and public outreach to enhance workforce branding and STEM activities.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Aerospace, Systems or other Engineering discipline.
• Master's degree preferred.
• 15 years of relevant experience with a Bachelor's degree; Master's degree equates to approximately two years of experience, and a Ph.D. equates to approximately six years of experience.
• Strong writing and communication skills.
• Experience in machine learning and AI.
