About the position

Join the Software QA team as an Artificial Intelligence (AI) R&D Engineer. The AI R&D Engineer will be responsible for researching, designing, and developing advanced AI tools and solutions to assist our team of Software QA Engineers. In this role, the AI R&D Engineer will be expected to understand cost, efficiency, and other technical considerations when developing AI system architectures and frameworks. Additionally, the ideal candidate will be expected to advance our AI capabilities through staying abreast of and implementing current technologies and methods such as RAG, MOE, RAFT, RLHF, etc. The AI R&D Engineer will collaborate with other AI focused teams within the business to promote AI education, usage, and the development of AI related skills.

Responsibilities

  • Stay up to date on ML/AI technologies and their application in software development and testing
  • Work with other AI/SW engineers to develop strategies and architectures for AI tool development and application
  • Provide training and guidance to engineering teams on prompt engineering and the usage of AI tools
  • Work with IT teams to select the best platforms/hardware resources for large-scale AI applications
  • Develop specific AI models trained on focused areas of expertise
  • Develop AI applications to consume large amounts of technical data for solutions creation related to software development and software testing
  • Review feedback applied to AI prompt responses to refine AI tools and output accuracy
  • Participate in Agile/Scrum meetings such as daily standups, sprint planning, sprint reviews, and/or retrospectives, as necessary
  • May require some travel (less than 10%)

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Computer Engineering or related field; or equivalent professional work experience.
  • Minimum 1 year of experience testing embedded software.
  • Strong programming background and understanding of cloud systems (ex: AWS).
  • Familiarity with mobile OSs and development environments.
  • Understanding of firmware/software development processes.
  • Excellent analytical skills and ability to work in a team-oriented environment.
  • Demonstrated initiative, leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to adapt to changing requirements during the development process
