About the position

The position involves planning and supervising arts lessons in an arts camp for children aged 6 to 12 in a day camp setting. The camps include instruction in various forms of art such as two and three-dimensional visual art, drama, dance, music, radio, video, and creative writing. The role requires collaboration with other Arts Camp staff and maintaining a safe and organized classroom environment.

Responsibilities

• Plan and supervise arts lessons for children ages 6 to 12.
• Report to the Arts Camp Program Manager and/or site director.
• Collaborate with other Arts Camp staff.
• Attend to the health, safety, and discipline of campers at all times, adhering to Health Department protocols.
• Manage supplies and maintain an organized and safe classroom.
• Conduct well-organized, age-appropriate classes and execute final sharing.
• Maintain positive customer relations with campers and their parents.
• Perform administrative tasks that support the efficient running of the program.

Requirements

• Experience teaching visual arts to children.
