About the position

The As-built AutoCAD Drafter position in Anchorage, Alaska, is a critical role focused on providing drawing updates and technical support to maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation. This position is based at the client's downtown office, with the flexibility to work from home on Wednesdays and Fridays. The work schedule can vary, offering options such as a regular Monday to Friday schedule, a flex 9/80 schedule, or a flex 4/10 schedule, allowing for a balance between work and personal time. The role is essential for ensuring that all drawings reflect the most current information and adhere to industry standards, particularly within the oil and gas sector. In this position, the drafter will be responsible for processing and tracking as-built miscellaneous redlines received in turnover packages. This involves identifying all associated impacted drawings and incorporating necessary redline changes into the existing documentation. The drafter will utilize AutoCAD, Raster Design, and the SAP PMS module to update drawings accurately. Collaboration is key, as the drafter will coordinate with the As-built Coordinator, Redline Coordinator, and field staff to verify the accuracy of submitted redlines. Additionally, the drafter must ensure that all drawings comply with specifications, codes, and standards, maintaining the integrity of the documentation throughout the project lifecycle.

Responsibilities

  • Process, track, and as-built miscellaneous redlines received in turnover packages.
  • Identify all associated impacted drawings.
  • Incorporate redline changes into existing documentation.
  • Update drawings utilizing AutoCAD, Raster Design, and SAP PMS module.
  • Coordinate with As-built Coordinator, Redline Coordinator, and field staff to verify accuracy of submitted redlines.
  • Verify drawings are correct to specifications, codes, and standards.

Requirements

  • Certification in AutoCAD or equivalent drafting experience required.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in drafting in the oil & gas industry or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Math skills sufficient to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and current versions of AutoCAD design software.
