About The Position

The AS400 Lead Developer position at Infosys involves leading a team in the design, development, and maintenance of AS/400 applications. The role requires a strong background in AS/400 technologies, particularly RPG, CLI, and DB2, and focuses on delivering high-quality software solutions while collaborating with various stakeholders. The selected candidate will be responsible for requirements elicitation, creating application architecture documents, reviewing team deliverables, and ensuring adherence to SDLC guidelines.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent required from an accredited institution.
  • Minimum 4 years of experience leading application development teams in an IBM iSeries and AS400 environment.
  • Excellent in designing and writing code using AS/400 programming languages, including RPG IV, RPG Free, CL, and DDS.
  • At least 3+ years of experience with AS/400 development tools such as SEU, PDM, and DB2.
  • Strong understanding of AS/400 programming concepts, including file handling and data manipulation.
  • Proficiency in debugging and troubleshooting AS/400 applications.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with modernizing AS/400 applications and implementing web services.
  • Knowledge of IBM iSeries operating system and administration tasks.
  • Familiarity with Agile or Scrum methodologies.
  • Understanding of software version control systems like ALDON or Git.
  • Certification in AS/400 or related technologies.

Responsibilities

  • Lead requirements elicitation and create Application Architecture Documents (AAD).
  • Create design artifacts and review team deliverables.
  • Deliver high-quality code and support deployment and post-deployment activities.
  • Support transition activities and interface with internal teams and key stakeholders.
  • Analyze and resolve issues to ensure high-quality deliverables at each stage of the SDLC.
  • Design, develop, and enhance software solutions using AS/400 programming languages.
  • Perform unit testing and debugging to ensure application quality and reliability.
  • Maintain and enhance existing AS/400 applications by troubleshooting issues and optimizing performance.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support system integration and software deployment activities.
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation, including system design and coding standards.
