Responsibilities

• Conduct preparatory initial inspections of abatement projects.
• Perform follow-up inspections to ensure compliance with regulations.
• Conduct final inspections to verify removal of friable asbestos.
• Inspect and test equipment and machinery related to asbestos abatement.
• Collect samples of bulk and dust to assess potential asbestos hazards.
• Prepare reports regarding consultations, inspections, and work documentation.
• Review closing documents for contractor billing and regulatory compliance.
• Maintain files and records related to asbestos operations.
• Consult with entities regarding maintenance and handling of asbestos-containing materials.

Requirements

• Current valid New England asbestos inspector license (MA, NH, ME, CT, RI, or VT).
• Knowledge of state and federal laws and regulations pertaining to asbestos removal.
• Understanding of industrial safety and hygiene practices.
• Familiarity with methods and equipment used for asbestos abatement.
• Ability to detect hazardous situations and recommend corrective actions.
• Effective oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to perform strenuous physical activities.
