Responsibilities

• Screen gynecological cytology specimens and render appropriate diagnoses.
• Triage abnormal gynecologic cases to pathologists.
• Pre-screen non-gynecologic cytology cases for pathologist review.
• Participate in quality control initiatives and assist in various laboratory functions.
• Complete screening and computer entry of diagnoses for gynecological and non-gynecological cases.
• Contribute to the cytology department's quality assurance and quality control program.
• Engage in the education of others and pursue personal education.

Requirements

• Skill in the use of computers and related software applications.
• Bachelor's degree or four years of work experience above the minimum qualification.
• Less than 1 year of experience in cytotechnology.
• Certification as ASCP-Cytologist (ASCP-CT) or Specialist in Cytology-ASCP (SCT).
