About the position

MLee Healthcare is seeking a dedicated Medical Technologist specializing in Histology to join a reputable hospital in the greater Chicago region. This full-time position involves working as a Histology Technician, responsible for tissue processing and slide preparations for the anatomic pathology department. The role offers flexible scheduling options, including evenings and nights, and emphasizes adherence to the organization's mission, vision, values, and compliance with regulatory standards.

Responsibilities

• Perform tissue processing and slide preparations for the anatomic pathology department.
• Adhere to the organization's Code of Ethics and Corporate Compliance Program.
• Comply with all relevant policies, procedures, guidelines, and regulatory standards.

Requirements

• Associate's Degree in Medical Technology, Medical Lab Tech, Clinical Lab Science, Chemistry, Biology, or Allied Health.
• Must provide proof of education as stated in the CLIA guidelines upon hire.
• Obtain Histotechnologist (HT) (ASCP) or equivalent certification within 1 year of hire date.
• Meet requirements for performing high complexity testing as defined by federal licensing guidelines (CLIA) and accreditation agencies (TJC, CAP).
• 1 year of Histology experience preferred.
