About the position

The ASG Presales Solutions Engineer - AI & Automation will serve as a customer-facing data center infrastructure specialist, focusing on uncovering and developing opportunities during customer interactions and account planning with sales teams. This role is primarily remote, with potential requirements to report to the Austin, TX office as determined by SHI management. The engineer will lead discussions with clients regarding data enablement requirements, acquire advanced technical skills, and understand the OEM and industry landscape related to solutions and market trends. They will also support the development of go-to-market strategies across all solutions and educate sales teams on data enablement solution selling and key technologies. In addition to client interactions, the engineer will be responsible for developing and maintaining internal intellectual property, which includes creating white papers, subject matter guides, assessment processes, measurement documents, and project briefs. They will perform assessments and solution deployment activities, including requirement definition, feasibility studies, and delivery. A strong understanding of SHI's data enablement services offerings and portfolio is essential for success in this role. The engineer will also be expected to demonstrate technical capabilities in security technology and design appropriate data center or hybrid solutions based on requirement documents.

Responsibilities

  • Lead both independent and collaborative discussions with clients regarding data enablement requirements
  • Acquire and develop advanced technical and programmatic skill sets
  • Understand OEM and industry landscape relative to solutions and market trends
  • Support development of go-to-market strategies across all solutions
  • Educate and develop sales teams on data enablement solution selling and key technologies
  • Develop and maintain internal intellectual property, including white papers and project briefs
  • Perform assessment and/or solution deployment activities including requirement definition, feasibility, and delivery
  • Understand and support SHI data enablement services offerings and portfolio

Requirements

  • Preferred Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience working with design and delivery/implementation of data enablement, integration, and automation
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience presenting to customers, internal teams, or local professional groups
  • Experience with tools like Power Automate, UI Path, Power BI, Tableau, Power Apps, Copilot for Microsoft 365, Copilot Studio, Amazon Q, and Microsoft Fabric
  • Ability to demonstrate technical capabilities of security technology
  • Ability to design an appropriate data center/hybrid solution based on requirement documents
  • Ability to recommend data enablement solutions based on industry trends and knowledge of client environments
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office products: Word, PowerPoint, and Visio
  • Knowledge across the full scope of technical data enablement solutions, including automation, low-code/no-code, data solutions, and artificial intelligence
  • Ability to conduct self-study and independent work in lab facilities to increase job-related skillset
