About the position

The ASG Presales Solutions Engineer - Infrastructure will serve as a customer-facing data center infrastructure specialist, playing a crucial role in uncovering and developing opportunities during customer interactions and account planning alongside sales teams. This position is primarily remote, although there may be occasions where reporting to the Austin, TX office is necessary based on business needs as determined by SHI management. Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with account teams to understand the maturity levels of customer data center environments through review and evaluation of infrastructure technologies, consumption, implementations, and processes.
  • Design and propose infrastructure solutions that meet customers' business objectives.
  • Strengthen technical relationships with original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) and strategic partners to enhance knowledge and participate in beta programs for better customer service.
  • Conduct product training and positioning for the sales team and customers.

Requirements

  • Preferred Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience.
  • 2+ years' experience working in complex Data Center technical presales opportunities.
  • Advanced knowledge of servers, storage, virtualization technologies, hybrid cloud, converged infrastructure, and software-defined data centers regarding their impact on the business.
  • Experience with Disaster Recovery, Business Continuity, and High Availability Solutions (backup/recovery, data protection, mirroring, active/standby, active/active, clustering).
  • Expertise in mainstream technologies including Dell Technologies, NetApp, HPE, Cisco, Pure Storage, Azure, AWS, Veeam, Nutanix.
  • Ability to design data center infrastructures that include hybrid cloud, hyper-converged, software-defined data center (SDDC), infrastructure/platform as a service, automation, containerization, and Data Center Management Platforms.
  • Strong knowledge of virtualization technologies, hypervisors, server virtualization, Software Defined Data Center, containerization, and automation.
  • High capacity to understand complex technical and selling situations and the ability to solve problems or solicit the required resources.
  • Must be results-driven with a strong sense of urgency.
  • Attention to detail, organization, and follow-up skills are critical.
