About the position

The ASG Solutions Engineer - Managed Services at SHI is a pivotal role focused on driving the growth of the company's managed services business. This position is designed for individuals who are passionate about technology and possess a deep understanding of cloud solutions. The Solutions Engineer will act as a subject matter expert in SHI's managed services portfolio, utilizing a consultative sales approach to engage with both new and existing customers. The primary goal is to qualify opportunities, understand customer needs and budget constraints, position appropriate services and pricing, and effectively overcome objections to facilitate the contract signing process. In this role, the Solutions Engineer will collaborate closely with account teams to assess the maturity levels of customer cloud environments. This involves a thorough review and evaluation of various cloud technologies, consumption patterns, implementations, and processes. The engineer will be responsible for designing and proposing cloud solutions that align with the business objectives of customers, ensuring that the solutions are not only technically sound but also strategically beneficial. Additionally, the Solutions Engineer will work alongside sales teams to drive the solution forward, making recommendations and aligning the next steps for a successful sale. Building and strengthening technical relationships with original equipment manufacturers (OEMs), strategic and emerging partners, and key cloud partners is also a critical aspect of this role. The engineer will play a key role in educating sales teams on cloud solution selling and key technologies through various training sessions, ensuring that the team is well-equipped to meet customer needs. This position is remote, allowing for a flexible home office setup as determined by SHI management. Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with account teams to understand the maturity levels of customer cloud environments through review and evaluation of cloud technologies, consumption, implementations, and processes.
  • Design and propose cloud solutions that meet customer's business objectives.
  • Collaborate with sales teams to drive the solution, including making recommendations and aligning the next steps for a sale.
  • Strengthen technical relationships with original equipment manufacturers (OEMs), strategic and emerging partners, and key cloud partners.
  • Educate sales teams on cloud solution selling and key technologies through 1x1 training, team training, and company training.
  • Conduct product training and positioning for the sales team and customers.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience.
  • Deep knowledge of AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud Platforms.
  • High capacity to design cloud infrastructure including hybrid cloud, hyper-converged, infrastructure/platform as a service, micro-services, security, IAM, and governance.
  • Ability to work with cloud architecture frameworks such as CSA, Microsoft Azure Reference Architecture, and AWS architecture best practices.
  • Excellent presentation skills.
  • Must be results-driven with a strong sense of urgency.
  • Attention to detail, organization, and follow-up skills are critical.
