The Presales Solutions Engineer - Security will serve as a customer-facing security expert, taking a consultative approach to security projects. This role requires a holistic understanding of how security technology enables business operations. The Solutions Engineer will be responsible for developing and delivering new security services offerings to address customer requests and opportunities. This position is primarily remote but may require occasional reporting to the office in Austin, Texas, as determined by SHI management based on business needs. In this role, the engineer will lead client engagements and assessments, which include scoping, following an industry-standard methodology, and reporting findings. Continuous improvement of penetration testing processes is essential, as is delivering detailed reports and leading debriefing calls with clients to discuss vulnerabilities discovered during engagements. The engineer will also provide remediation and mitigation options to clients. The Solutions Engineer will need to learn the company’s security services offerings and portfolio through self-study, partner training, and company-sponsored training. Collaboration with various organizational levels, including CIOs, CSOs, CISOs, Security Directors, and Security Admins, is crucial to strengthen customer relationships and understand their goals and objectives. Additionally, educating sales teams on Cyber Security solution selling and key technologies through various training methods is a key responsibility. Staying current on new technology, trends, and market behavior is vital, as is engaging in self-study and independent work in lab facilities to enhance job-related knowledge and skills.
