About the position

The Presales Solutions Engineer - Security will serve as a customer-facing security expert, taking a consultative approach to security projects. This role requires a holistic understanding of how security technology enables business operations. The Solutions Engineer will be responsible for developing and delivering new security service offerings to address customer requests and opportunities. This position is primarily remote but may require occasional reporting to the office in Austin, Texas, as determined by SHI management based on business needs. Responsibilities

  • Leading client engagements and assessments including scoping, following an industry-standard methodology, and reporting findings.
  • Continuously improving penetration testing processes and delivering detailed reports.
  • Leading debriefing calls with clients to discuss vulnerabilities discovered during engagements and offering remediation and mitigation options.
  • Learning about the company's security services offerings and portfolio through self-study, partner training, and company-sponsored training.
  • Collaborating with various organizational levels, including CIO, CSO, CISO, Security Directors, and Security Admins, to strengthen customer relationships and understand their goals.
  • Educating sales teams on Cyber Security solution selling and key technologies through training sessions.
  • Staying current on new technology, trends, and market behavior by studying market trends and the industry landscape.
  • Engaging in self-study and independent work in lab facilities to enhance job-related knowledge and skills.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience.
  • 5+ years' experience in a technical cybersecurity role.
  • 3+ years' experience in Security Pre-Sales Consulting.
  • Ability to design security infrastructure including firewalls, endpoint, email, intrusion prevention/detection, identity, and event logging.
  • General understanding of security frameworks such as NIST, HITRUST, CIS.
  • Excellent presentation skills.
  • Ability to work effectively within all levels of an organization, both internally and externally.
  • Attention to detail, organization, and follow-up skills are critical.
  • Possess a real passion for technology.
  • Expert technical knowledge of Security Solutions.
