About the position

The ASIC Design for Test Engineer role at Cisco involves designing, developing, and testing complex ASICs within the Silicon One development organization. The primary focus is on implementing Hardware Design-for-Test (DFT) features that support automated test equipment (ATE), in-system testing, and diagnostics. The engineer will collaborate with various teams to ensure testability features are integrated early in the design cycle and will participate in post-silicon validation phases.

Responsibilities

  • Implement Hardware Design-for-Test (DFT) features that support ATE, in-system test, debug, and diagnostics needs.
  • Develop innovative DFT IP in collaboration with multi-functional teams.
  • Integrate and validate test logic in all phases of implementation and post-silicon validation flows.
  • Participate in creating innovative Hardware DFT and physical design aspects for new silicon device models.
  • Drive reusable test and debug strategies.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering required.
  • At least 6 years of experience in ASIC design and testing.
  • Experience with JTAG protocols, Scan and BIST architectures, including memory BIST and boundary scan.
  • Experience with ATPG and EDA tools like TestMax, Tetramax, Tessent tool sets, and PrimeTime.
  • Experience with gate level simulation and debugging with VCS and other simulators.
  • Post-silicon validation and debug experience; ability to work with ATE patterns, P1687.
  • Scripting skills in Tcl, Python, or Perl.

Nice-to-haves

  • Verilog design experience for developing custom DFT logic and IP integration.
  • Familiarity with functional verification.
  • Experience in DFT CAD development, including Test Architecture, Methodology, and Infrastructure.
  • Background in Test Static Timing Analysis.
  • Experience with post-silicon validation using DFT patterns.

Benefits

  • Medical, dental, and vision insurance
  • 401(k) plan with Cisco matching contribution
  • Short and long-term disability coverage
  • Basic life insurance
  • Paid holidays (up to 12 per year) including a floating holiday and a day off for birthday
  • 20 days of Paid Time Off (PTO) accrued annually
  • Paid time off for critical or emergency issues
  • Additional paid time to volunteer
  • Employee Stock Purchase Program
