About the position

The ASIC New Product Manager for Kuiper Silicon Development Engineering at Amazon Kuiper Manufacturing Enterprises LLC is a pivotal role focused on the pre-production development and manufacturing of semiconductor integrated circuit (IC) chips for digital and analog ASICs and System on Chips (SOCs). This position is integral to Project Kuiper, which aims to launch a constellation of Low Earth Orbit communications satellites to provide high-speed broadband connectivity to underserved communities globally. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing all aspects of Kuiper's ASIC engineering sample work-order definition, execution, and downstream logistical supply fulfillment. This includes overseeing the entire product lifecycle from initial design release through qualification into mass production, ensuring that the time-to-market velocity is accelerated to positively impact customers worldwide. The ideal candidate will possess extensive knowledge of the semiconductor IC product lifecycle, development methodologies, and manufacturing flows. They will be adept at managing the complexities of sample supply and demand operations planning, executing technical interdependencies of New Product Introduction (NPI) engineering builds, and ensuring adherence to quality specifications. The role requires a proactive and results-driven individual who is comfortable operating independently and is passionate about semiconductors and their societal impact. The ASIC New Product Manager will lead efforts to align external vendor engineering and internal engineering teams, manage build and delivery logistics, identify and mitigate execution schedule risks, and provide status reporting and project health metrics. In this dynamic and fast-paced environment, the ASIC New Product Manager will collaborate closely with a specialized team of IC industry product design engineers. They will coordinate deliverable linkages across various teams, ensuring that pre-production technical manufacturing flows and sample build plans are defined and executed on schedule. This role is critical in ensuring that engineering validation teams have access to an uninterrupted supply of samples, thereby facilitating the successful launch of Kuiper's innovative aerospace and terrestrial networking infrastructure.

Responsibilities

  • Collect, consolidate, and prioritize internal silicon engineering design and validation customer demand requirements.
  • Convert demand requirements into supply build plans applying line-capacity, multi-tiered yield loss, and test time constraints.
  • Communicate the build plan signal to 3rd party factory vendors and oversee build plan execution.
  • Prepare product engineering build plans and assembly instruction documentation in a PLM Configuration Management system.
  • Coordinate and drive transportation logistics and export trade compliance across a multi-node international semiconductor supply chain.
  • Drive wafer lot plans, starts, package and test lot plans, and work orders.
  • Plan and raise purchase orders, directing deployment of chip supply to customers.
  • Maintain end-to-end Wafer Fab TO Assembly/Test Lot traceability records.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of customer-facing product development and product management experience.
  • Deep knowledge of all phases of the semiconductor IC product lifecycle.
  • Experience in pre-production development and manufacture of semiconductor IC chips.
  • Hands-on background in sample supply/demand operations planning.
  • Experience executing technical interdependencies of NPI engineering builds.

Nice-to-haves

  • Knowledge of agile product development and life-cycle management processes.
  • Experience leading cross-functional teams to deliver products and online services on tight deadlines.

Benefits

  • Flexible working hours to promote work-life balance.
