About the position

The ASIC Power Engineer will be a key member of the Cloud-Scale Machine Learning Acceleration team at Amazon, focusing on the design and optimization of hardware for AWS data centers, particularly for AWS Inferentia, a custom-designed machine learning inference server. This role involves working with cutting-edge technologies and architectures to ensure high design quality while managing the complexities of SOC development and power optimization.

Responsibilities

• Design and optimize hardware for AWS data centers, specifically for AWS Inferentia.
• Conduct power analysis and optimization for custom SOCs.
• Utilize SOC verification tools for simulation and emulation.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure project success.
• Mentor junior engineers and contribute to knowledge sharing within the team.

Requirements

• BSc degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering.
• 8+ years of experience in SOC development with a proven track record of ownership and deliveries.
• 3+ years of experience with power analysis and optimization.
• Experience with SOC verification tools, including simulation and emulation.
• Proficient in programming languages such as C, Python, or Perl.
• Deep understanding of SOC development domains, including design for power, IR drop, and LdI/dT.
